What a great article. I have been researching natural based Vitamins, minerals and herbs for a few months. I am a firm believer that Mother Nature provides us with an extraordinary bounty of beneficial herbs and fruits. As you mentioned, there is anecdotal evidence dating back thousands of years that shows man has used these natural goodies for their nutritional and medicinal properties.

I have started looking into some recent studies on "superfruits" like the Mangosteen and the Seabuckthorn. Laboratory tests show very some very promising results. The lab tests I point to below go into a lot of detail about ORAC values and how they are affected by Mangosteen in particular.

The link below is a a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted with generally healthy male and female subjects between 20 and 23 years of age. It concluded that "Our results suggest that Mangosteen... is an excellent source to increase the blood level of antioxidants, thus possibly offering protection against chronic diseases caused by the aging process." They did say that further studies needed to be done, but it looked very promising.

Keep up the good work <a href="http://www.advancedhealing.com" rel="nofollow">Marcus</a>. It is appreciated.
