What is Krill Oil and What are the Benefits of Krill Oil?

Pure Antarctic Krill Oil

What is Krill Oil?

Krill are tiny crustaceans that live in the cold, pristine waters of the Antarctic Ocean. Antarctic Krill are so plentiful that they are thought to be one of the most abundant animal species on earth, and are harvested as a renewable resource. Because their habitat is so remote, deep and cold, krill are free from harmful levels of heavy metals and toxins that may be found in some fish oil.  Scientists and doctors have discovered that ingesting this oil can have amazing affects on your body including a stronger heart, pain-free joints, a better mood, lower cholesterol, easier menstruation and overall better health. Krill oil is a miraculous discovery from the deep pure waters of Antarctica that literally beats the pants off fish oil. When tested head to head by an independent laboratory our Krill oil was found to be 48x more powerful in antioxidant activity than fish oil!  Pure krill oil from CAOH

Benefits of Krill Oil:

  • Krill oil is incredibly rich in Omega-3s, Phospholipids, and Astaxanthin
  • Krill oil contains vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin D and canthaxanthin, which is – like astaxanthin – a potent anti-oxidant. The anti-oxidant potency of krill oil is such that when compared to fish oil in terms of ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorptance Capacity) values, it was found to be 48 times more potent than fish oil.

Why Krill Oil from California Academy of Health?

  • Is manufactured under strict quality control standards.
  • Individually packed so each softgel is fresh and pure each time you take it.
  • Is tested to be free of harmful levels of contaminants such as mercury and lead.

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) found in seafood are associated with lower risk of heart disease

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) found in seafood are associated with lower risk of heart disease, improved immune function, health advantages in preterm infants and possibly lower risk of suicide, according to new research. These findings and more are summarized in the December 2011 PUFA Newsletter and Fats of Life newsletters for health professionals and consumers, respectively.

One study reported that healthy adults with the highest consumption of fish had higher scores for two indicators of heart health – blood vessel cell function and less inflammation – compared with those who did not eat fish. Such observations suggest that eating fish regularly or supplementing with omega 3′s from fish oil, may help prevent heart disease.

Can You Cook with Lecithin Granules?

Question: I really don’t like the taste of the lecithin granules.  Can you cook with them and get the same benefits?

Jody,

Lecithin granules won’t cook-up very well. If you blend the granules in a protein shake  (I use 2 tablespoons per shake) or with yogurt and fruit/fruit juice in a smoothie, you won’t taste them and it will act as a thickening agent (slightly).

Note: Lecithin granules are great ways to add additional lecithin to your diet. Lecithin is a naturally occurring fatty substance found in a variety of different foods such as soybeans, egg yolks, and whole grains. It helps the body utilize certain vitamins such as Vitamin A, B, E, and K. Lecithin granules also help to break-down fat and cholesterol into smaller pieces.

I hope this helps.

The first time in 30 years my triglycerides have been this low.

Good Morning Dr. E,

I am just writing to let you know I am on top of the world. I had a fasting lipid panel taken and my triglycerides were 110…first time they have been within normal ranges for at least 30 years. The first time they were checked was when I was 18 years old and I was told they were high at that point and have been ever since, until you!!!  Thank you so very much for the information on lowering them.

I am continuing the use of the lecithin granules with the flax oil along with the low glycemic food list and was wondering what type of milk product to use if I eat an occasional bowl of all bran or some type of cereal like that.  Do you recommend rice milk, soy milk, or just fat free milk….?

Again, thank you so very much!!!  You do not know how happy I am!!!!

Sincerely,
Pam Jones

Pam,

I am so glad you had such great results with your lipid levels. I am not a fan of cereal or milk, but once every now and then isn’t going to kill anyone. If you have to have a bowl than just do it and don’t worry about the milk. Only every now and then!!!

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc

Could you tell him that he might….

Question: I want to order this (Liquid Power) for myself, even though I have been into Good Organic foods etc. for yrs. I quit taking Fosamax due to the bad reports. DR. will not prescribe Estrogen any more, but says my bones look good. I will be 82 in Sept. Most people take me for no more than 60. I Ballroom dance, Can keep up with the 20 yr. olds.

My friend is 76. He takes a drug for B.P. a drug for Cholesterol, a drug for anxiety, & Ambien to sleep. This causes the other problem that men get from taking all these drugs. He does not want to resort to yet another drug, for this. Could you tell him that he might possibly be able to eliminate some of these drugs if he were to take your product. He also has Diverticulosis———cannot have tomatoes, other seeds.

Thank You

Marge Joyce

Answer: Marge,

Your friend has a lot going on and it would be difficult to guarantee that just one product will enable him to get off his meds. The Liquid Power is an amazing product and I use it a lot in my practice. My recommendation is that he try it for 3 months and see how he feels. He also would work with his MD to help eliminate or lower the dosage of his meds, if appropriate.

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.

Sports Illustrated for Women (September, 2003) Ranks Acai Berry “One of the 41 Top Things on Earth”

California Academy of Health’s Acai Max contains USDA Organic Certified Acai, the purest form of acai fruit. The acai berry is a tiny, round, and blackish purple fruit that looks like a grape, but in fact has more than double the antioxidant power of blueberries and 30 times more anthocyanins than a glass of red wine. The amazing energizing nutrient density of the acai berry classifies it as one of the top “Superfoods” in the world.

SI for Women calls the acai fruit “One of the 41 Top Things on Earth,” and the “optimum fruit you’ve never heard of.” The acai berry has also received recent rave reviews from Men’s Health Journal, Well Being Sciences Institute and Vogue. What should be known are the many added bonuses of the amazing acai fruit: 60% Oleic acid (omega-9) a monounsaturated fatty acid which helps to decrease LDL (harmful cholesterol), while maintaining HDL (beneficial cholesterol); and 12% Linoleic acid (omega-6) a polyunsaturated essential fatty acid which has been found to lower LDL levels, while promoting healthy HDL’s.

Acai also contains unique plant chemicals known as phytosterols. Phytosterols are compounds of plant cell membranes that provide many benefits throughout the human body. Reduction of blood plasma cholesterol being the primary one. Phytosterols are currently being used to treat symptoms affiliated with BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia) and PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome). The acai fruit is amazing by itself but benefits from the synergy of other “superfoods” like those found in our Acai Max.

Goji Juice – Testimonial 01/19/2007

I think dietary supplements do work, as they have been lifesaving (and money saving) for me. Examples: Instead of taking heart medicines with their harmful side effects, I take CoEnzyme Q10 with amazing results. I drink Goji Juice instead of harmful cholesterol lowering drugs, and my cholesterol went from 278 to 245 in less than a month. Acetyl-L-Carnitine relieves the heaviness in my legs (PAD syndrome?) without taking harmful drugs.
