Pomegranate and Acia Together? Yes

Q: Please tell me the benefits of pomegranate juice. I have heard that it prevents lung cancer is this true & if so is it substantiated? I currently use acai-max twice a day is there a benefit to adding pomegranate to this therapy? My father lost his battle with lung cancer 5 years ago. A non-smoker, he had none of the typical catalysts for the disease. Thank you for your time to answer this question, sincerely, Doris Chavez
A: Doris,
Here is a lot of easy to read data on the pomegranate – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomegranate
As far as cancer goes: Research suggests that pomegranate juice may be effective against prostate cancer[14][15] and osteoarthritis.[16] In 2007, six clinical trials in the United States, Israel and Norway have been approved to examine the effects of pomegranate juice consumption on parameters of prostate cancer or prostatic hyperplasia, diabetes or lymphoma [17].
Both acai and pomegranate are high in unique/different polyphenols, so both together would be better than each one separately.

A Few Words About our Bottles

Question: Dear CAOH Doc,
Can you tell me what kind of plastic are used for your Noni Juice. You’ve explained that they are “frosted” to reduce the UV radiation exposure and resulting “deterioration of the juice.” However, I would like to know just how stable this plastic is (say compared to glass bottles), and the contaminants and rate of contamination you expect from the plastic leaching into the juice over time. I appreciate the lengths you have gone to in order to provide a pure, organic product, for maximum health benefits, so I am hopeful you can provide for me a complete understanding of the container you have chosen for storing and distributing your Noni product
Answer: Dear Greg, We only use medical grade plastic bottles for our products. Our bottles will not leech into acid or basic solutions and perform as well as glass in regard to inhibiting product oxidation. Our will tolerate temperatures way above boiling and are practically unbreakable. Believe it or not, plastic is more expensive for us to buy than glass. The draw back to glass is that it breaks and the extra packing is very expensive also. With the amount of products we ship around the world we would be replacing quite a lot of broken bottles and/or spending a fortune on Styrofoam (not very earth friendly). We use a major company’s product with the highest reputation in the medical and consumer goods industry. All of our bottles are sterilized before any juice is put in them.
As a FYI: The majority of fruit juices you see packaged in glass are not done so because the manufacturer wants it to look good, it’s because the product is heat (hot) pasteurized. The bottles are then hot filled, put into boxes and stacked on pallets. There the box acts like an oven and the juice further cooks (in the residual heat), for sometimes up to 24 hours. This process can only be done with glass. If you tried this with our plastic bottle it would expand when hot than slightly collapse in on itself as it cooled down. It would now have an hourglass shape and the label would start to have problems too.
Heat pasteurization and glass packaging is done solely to increase the shelf life of the product, period. It’s a sad but true fact that the majority of juice manufactures who use this method make claims about their product from “raw ingredient data.” The finished product is not a good source for their wonderful marketing material, because the product inside is now dead.

ORAC – Analysis – Flash Pasteurization

Rick,
Here you go. If you have additional questions please feel free to e-mail me.
1. What are the respective ORAC values of each juice you products.
http://www.caoh.com/liquid-vitamin-blog/?p=201
2. What lab do you use for testing and do you have any reproducible letters from this lab to show potential customers?
All of our testing is done by the contract laboratory we use to produce are proprietary therapy juices. All of the certificates of analysis have our formulas/recipes on them and all of the ingredients. It would be impossible for me to block out the ingredients and formula and still present a viable document. Up coming GMP standards require us to have a C.A. for each batch we do. All of our juices are presently going through the steps to receive USDA organic certification. This should be complete within, I hope, the next 60-90 days.
Absolute goji, Naked Noni, Almost Naked Noni, and Acai Max are organic certified now.
3. What is flash pasteurization and does it degrade some of the active compounds in the juices?
Flash pasteurization is a “mandatory process.” We can not sell raw juice. so F.P. is the least invasive method of preservation and I feel confident that it posses a negligible harmful effect to the juice.

Pomegranate Concentrate and the Prostate

Question: I read an article that said drinking 8 oz of pure 100% Pomegranate Juice per/day helps with slowing down the possible recurrence of prostate cancer. My question is, if using the Pomegranate Concentrate where it is 1 to 2 Tbsp, how does that compare/transfer? Do I mix it with water? Can I put it in other juice? Does this constitute 8 oz?
Thank you
Teri P.
Answer: Dear Teri,
Our concentrate is 15:1, so 2 tablespoons will be about equal to two 8oz glasses of juice. Yes, you can mix it with juice or water.

Acai Juice for Diabetes, Renal Disease and High Blood Pressure?

Question: Can acai juice be taken by someone with diabetic/end stage renal disease diet and high blood pressure? John Z.
Answer: Dear John,
I personally don’t know of any contraindications to drinking acai juice. It’s just a fruit juice, so if you can drink fruit juice you’re most likely going to be fine with the acai juice. If you still have concerns please consult with your personal physician. This is not a recommendation only my opinion.

Hi Dr. Ettinger, Thanks for your note.
My father is a doctor here in Peoria and he loves your Goji juice. He will be 77 his next birthday this March and is still very strong and sharp. Personally, I love the mental recall from it! I remember the most interesting details.
Thank you for offering such an incredible product.

Hi Dr. E
I have been using your therapy juices for some time now. I started out with the Goji Juice, then moved on to the Acai Max and Mangosteen Elixir and have recently been ordering the Absolute Goji. Great products, I feel better after using the products and have felt a definite increase in energy with the Goji juice. I appreciate the fact that you are not an MLM and that you have bulk discount prices.
Keep up the great work, looking forward to new products being introduced.

Noni Juice – Testimonial 02/15/2007

Dear Dr. E,
Thanks for your email. I started taking noni juice about 7 years ago when my boss came in to work with a bottle and asked me to try it. Of course at that time I couldn’t get past the taste of it and it was a few months before I eventually began consuming it on a daily basis. What I didn’t realize at the time was that Noni would change my life.
I have suffered with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) my whole life and in particular have battled severe brain fog. At times this brain fog has been so overwhelming that I have felt desperate. I was eating the proper way you should with this condition by eating a low sugar/carb content diet and small protein snack throughout the day, etc. and even started exercising faithfully to try and combat it, but nothing would take away the brain fog. Anyhow I noticed that my brain fog COMPLETELY went away after I started taking Noni juice. On a few different occasions I have either run out of noni juice for a week or so or have forgotten to take it with me on vacations and after a week or so of not taking noni I get the terrible brain fog back. That was when I realized how well Noni was working for me. My brother, also suffers from low blood sugar and has also noticed that noni somehow regulates his blood sugar. Noni juice has truly improved my quality of life.
I have compared other brands of noni juice to yours and even tried the Hawaiian version (which did not work) and always end up purchasing from CAOH. I hope you will be around forever.

I originally placed an order for 3 bottles of your goji juice and I was very happy with my order. The juice tastes great. I placed another order for 6 more bottles which arrived today. I am very impressed with how quickly my orders arrive from your company. I used to buy the 100% goji juice from another company but when I went to your site you pointed out how the true color of goji juice should be a sort of orange color not molasses color. If what you say is true, I don’t know what I was drinking in this so called 100% goji. Anyway, I enjoy going to your site to view your products and sometime in the future I will be placing an order for your 100% goji. You have great customer service. Ana |
