Noni is great for Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Question: Hello, my grandmother gave me a booklet about noni juice. She has Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
The booklet she showed me was from this company – tahitiannoni.com
My question is, I’m looking for as close to pure as possible noni juice. My grandmom won’t mind taking it straight but what can we use to ease the taste without deactivating any of the nutrients.
Second, she is taking Ranitidine, but only when needed. Can she stop taking it if continuous use of noni juice?
Thanks for your help. I saw your video because I didn’t just settle for the booklet. I did some research and saw your video and you seem to have the pure stuff.
Thanks for your time with my questions

Answer: Mike,
Our Totally Nude Noni (100% pure organic noni juice) and our Almost Nude Noni (98% pure organic noni juice with 2% organic juice extract – flavor formula) will both works perfectly here. Our 98% product tastes pretty good and is no less beneficial than our 100% formula.
As far as here medication goes, your grand mom can try going without and if the symptoms don’t go away or become too unbearable, she can always go back on the meds.
Shoot me an e-mail and let me know which juice you chose and how it works out for your grandma.
Sincerely,
Dr. Marcus Ettinger, B.Sc., D.C.

One note on the video link below. The use of “organic” and “natural” can be a real source of confusion, and the attached video contains some great information. The use of “natural” on products is not always bad. There are some great products out there that are indeed natural and contain no pesticides or GMO’s – that’s good!. But there are some that do – that’s bad. It is very important to read your labels and know what you are buying, and who you are buying from.
It ‘s important to know what you are putting into your body. Don’t be misled!

Recently I was in a small market and I wanted some strawberry jam or preserves, real strawberry jam – I love it! I found one that looked good. It stated all natural strawberry preserves on the front label – it had a nice looking natural look to it and seemed a fair cost. I put it into the cart and started to walk away when I noticed another brand that was organic. I stopped and thought – read the label, dummy!
The brand that stated “all natural” was not really. It did have some strawberries in it, but it was also high in fructose corn syrup and three different preservatives. Not very natural! I then read the organic strawberry bottle and lo and behold it was 100% nothing added certified organic strawberry jam!
The contents look pretty much the same, but clearly they were not. The organic jam may have cost more – but it was what I really wanted – real strawberry jam.
The other day we ran across a video that emphasizes the point even further. “Blueberries found in blueberry bagels, cereals, breads and muffins are REAL blueberries right? Wrong! Award-winning investigative journalist Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, exposes the deceptive chemical ingredients and dishonest marketing of “blueberry” products from big-name food and cereal companies. The blueberries, it turns out, are made from artificial colors, hydrogenated oils and liquid sugars.”
This video really illustrates the point:
As you all know from our newsletters and website we try to push this message. It really is important to know what you are buying. Buying organic is very important. This is why!
There are many companies marketing products that don’t contain what they appear to, based on the front label. Much of the Goji, Mangosteen, Acai, Noni, Pomegranate, Maqui, Sea Buckthorn Oil,, Tamanu Oil, and Oregano Oil for sale are so much less than the pure product you should expect. Many are significantly diluted versions of their former selves, containing only trace amounts of the ingredients listed on the label. Plus, a whole lot of other ingredients you don’t want.
It’s not just off-brands marketed on the web – it’s big name brands and retailers that are providing misleading information regularly. We are not big fans of the Walmart’s, Monsanto’s and GNC’s of the world. We like and do support small business that are the backbone of this nation.
This is why buying organic products is really worth the effort and the cost. In order to be organic they have to be independently inspected, and additive free! Its a way of really ensuring you are getting what you intend to get!
So read the label, buy organic when you can, buy natural when you can and live healthy!
Thanks,
Does flax seed oil contain lignans?

Question: Hi,
I use your products and have been very satisfied. I do have a question though, my research on flax seed oil has lead me to believe that the oil (unlike fresh ground flax seed) does not contain the lignans. This is one reason why I buy it fresh and ground it myself. You advertise it as high lignans. Do you have any research to back this up?
Thanks for your time.
Terri
Answer: Terri,
Thank you for being a loyal customer and do appreciate getting questions and being able to clarify nutritional misconceptions that fill the internet. Please understand that this question is not meant to be an attack but the start of a fair and analytical conversation. That said, Do you have any research to back-up your statement? where did you get your data? Is it from a peer-reviewed journal or biochemist?
I’ve been doing this since 1995 and have been a doctor for 22 years. I have been confronted with hundreds of questions from well-intended people, based solely on hearsay (from a neighbor, health food store employee, readers digest…), and in some cases very angrily. I too hear a lot of conflicting data on many subjects. Before I ever buy into it, I will do my due diligence and seek-out the truth.
The statement that flax seed oil “products” do not contain lignans can be false or true depending on the processing. How much lignans contained in the oil is a matter of processing and filtration. There is standard, low to no lignan flax seed oil (100% pure oil, highly filtered) and there is high lignan flax seed oil (lightly or non-filtered). It’s the particulate matter that contains the lignans. It’s just like in olive oil and wine. There are those manufactures that filter their finished product and those that leave it unfiltered. It’s up to the customer to decide which they prefer.
Is this what you read?
I have noticed that there are two different kinds of flax oil, regular and high-lignan. What is the difference between the two? Which one would you recommend to purchase?
Flax oil, regardless if it is regular or high-lignan, contains only the oil portion from the seed. It does not contain protein, lignans, fiber, and any other substances from the seed. With that being said, consider these points:
1. In the entire flax industry, not one standardized methodology of plant lignan extraction and measurement testing has been settled upon. Therefore, you will never know if it is high-lignan or not. It is like comparing apples to oranges.
2. High-lignan flax oil is usually more expensive than regular flax oil. So, are you better off purchasing high-lignan flax oil? Since the lignan amounts cannot be verified, it has less omega-3 fats, and is more expensive, you would be better off consuming regular flax oil and adding ground flaxseed to your diet.
Dietitian Jane Reinhardt-Martin
I wish I knew where Jane was getting her data because any first year chemistry student will tell you that if you assay a specific substance you will be able to determine its chemical composition and purity.
This is taken from the assay report of our product:
Amounts of polyunsaturated, monounsaturated fats and lignans (per serving)
Linolenic Acid (Omega-3)……….55%
Linoleic Acid (Omega-6)…………..14%
Oleic Acid (Omega-9)………………19%
Other (Saturated)……………………..12% of which 1.5% is the lignans
Organic flax particulate matter (source of lignans)
Lignans……………………………….1.5%
Please let me know if you are satisfied with this response and if it adds clarity to the topic.
Sincerely,
Marcus Ettinger BSc, DC

Thanks for the information. I read in one of my books that I usually rely on but at the moment I can’t remember which one. I have to find it because I usually use my books to cross reference info. I have a strong interest in health and I do a lot of reading. Some things stick in my head and that was one of them. It was by no means a dig at your products. I happen to like CAOH company.
I truly appreciate your detailed response. I am use to pretty much not getting one when I request info from other companies.

Does CAOH have sun dried acai berries

Does CAOH have sun dried acai berries?? I would like to get some if you do.
Wallace,
Wallace,
There are no sun dried acai berries. Acai berries are not like a blueberry or raspberries (see acai pictures)…. There is no flesh, just a pit, fiber and a millimeter’s worth of skin/flesh. It’s that millimeter, mixed with water that makes the juice (Acai Max). The Absolute Acai Powder is as good as anyone can get to pure acai.
Sincerely,

Why buy oragnic fruits and vegetables!

Why are organic products higher in antioxidants?
“Selecting organic produce and organic processed fruits and vegetables will increase antioxidant levels by about 30 percent, compared to produce grown on otherwise similar conventional farms.”
There are two reasons why organic fruits and vegetables are higher in antioxidant compounds. The first reason is linked to what is called “pest pressure.” Plants under stress from pests have to engage their natural defense mechanisms, called secondary plant metabolites or SPMs. Most SPMs tend to be antioxidants and they’re also responsible for giving plants their bright colors and distinctive flavors. When organically grown plants have to engage their defense mechanisms, they yield fruits and vegetables that are higher in SPMs and therefore higher in antioxidants. This also explains why you can actually taste the difference between organic and conventionally grown produce. Organic produce tends to have a much richer and fuller flavor in part because of those antioxidant rich SPMs.
The second reason has to do with using the natural growing methods on organic farms. Conventional farms speed up plant growth by heavily fertilizing plants and spraying pesticides to get plants to grow as quickly as possible. This actually shortens the growth cycle for plants and yields fruits and vegetables that are lower in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Organic farms, on the other hand, rely on slower/natural growth cycle to allow fruits and vegetables to mature naturally. This leads to better tasting and far more nutritious produce.
Obviously this is good and good for you!
Foods with the most antioxidants per serving:
| Maqui berries | Acai berries |
| Blueberries | Elderberries |
| Pomegranates | Citrus Fruits |
| Cranberries | Kidney beans |
| Blackberries | Pinto beans |
| Raspberries | Asparagus |
| Strawberries | Yellow pepper |
| Apples | Black-eyed peas |
| Plums | Cooked tomatoes |
| Sweet cherries | Cooked artichoke |
| Prunes | Red cabbage |
| Grapefruit | Red grapes |
| Peaches | Broccoli raab |
| Potatoes | Beets |
Acai and Maqui berries offer some of the highest antioxidant levels of all super fruits and berries.
Elderberries are also high in antioxidants and are related to blueberries and cranberries. Studies have also shown elderberries can be effective in boosting the immune system and helping reduce your risk of colds, flu and coughs. But remember, a person can not live on just one fruit alone! Variety is the spice of life, and that’s why it’s so great we have all these wonderful organic products to choose from. Click here to see more great antioxidant rich fruit and berry products.
Could you tell him that he might….

Question: I want to order this (Liquid Power) for myself, even though I have been into Good Organic foods etc. for yrs. I quit taking Fosamax due to the bad reports. DR. will not prescribe Estrogen any more, but says my bones look good. I will be 82 in Sept. Most people take me for no more than 60. I Ballroom dance, Can keep up with the 20 yr. olds.
My friend is 76. He takes a drug for B.P. a drug for Cholesterol, a drug for anxiety, & Ambien to sleep. This causes the other problem that men get from taking all these drugs. He does not want to resort to yet another drug, for this. Could you tell him that he might possibly be able to eliminate some of these drugs if he were to take your product. He also has Diverticulosis———cannot have tomatoes, other seeds.
Thank You
Marge Joyce
Answer: Marge,
Your friend has a lot going on and it would be difficult to guarantee that just one product will enable him to get off his meds. The Liquid Power is an amazing product and I use it a lot in my practice. My recommendation is that he try it for 3 months and see how he feels. He also would work with his MD to help eliminate or lower the dosage of his meds, if appropriate.
Sincerely,
Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.
Are you the manufacturers of these products or wholesale/distributor?

Thanks for the great chat yesterday. I need a little clarity regarding your products; are you the manufacturers of these products or wholesale/distributor? Are you making the formulas and if so where?
You mentioned that I should speak with Lorelei in customer service and she would set me up and that doctors pricing was the cheapest. Is that cheaper than wholesale listed on the internet? Thanks for your time to respond.
Dr. Jo Stroud
Response: Jo,
Like I mentioned in our conversation, in the nutritional supplement industry there are certified laboratories that have the technology to encapsulate and bottle products such as ours. We only use organic certified and GMP certified labs; these have to meet specific regulations. 90% of all products manufactured and sold under various labels are done this way, with even the largest companies utilizing such labs. We merely supply them with the raw ingredients, a recipe and manufacturing specifications and allow them to create the finished product.
Give Lorelei a call; she will be the person to talk to about setting-up a physician account and answer any questions you may have in regard to pricing and quantities. I am not involved, at all, in this area.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Marcus
