ORAC value of Absolute Acai

Question: Hello,
I am wondering what is the ORAC value of your Absolute Acai Freeze-Dried Acai Powder? Your Web site mentions that “It has been found that freeze-dried acai has the highest antioxidant activity (ORAC value), maintaining the nutrient profile of the freshly harvested fruit” but does not give the actual ORAC value.
Thank you,
Valerie
Answer: Valerie,
From our webpage:
“Research has been done by reputable U.S. laboratories to determine which form of açaí maintains the highest level of antioxidants. It has been found that freeze-dried acai has the highest antioxidant activity (ORAC value), maintaining the nutrient profile of the freshly harvested fruit. “
This is a general statement and not a quote or statement about the specific ORAC value of our product. It is just a comparison to all forms of the acai. Personally, I am not a promoter of ORAC, it’s internet hype, and don’t use it as my gauge in determining my 950+ nutritional products I carry in my practice. Please read my blog post on ORAC.
In a nutshell; if you want the closest form to fresh, than 100% organic freeze dried acai is it!
I am here to help if you have any additional questions.
Sincerely,

9/18/2007 Question: Does Acai-Max have the pits and skins where the nutrients are supposed to be the highest? I’m thinking of ordering the product and I was trying to compare it to Monavie which has 19 fruits. I really want the best for my family but don’t want to go broke in the process. Also can young children take acai-berry juice.
Thank you,
Nancy Schempp
Answer: Dear Nancy,
Timely question; I just returned home 5 hours ago from spending 8 days in Belem, Brazil. This area is where all of the acai comes from.
The pit is never used and comprises from 88-90% percent of the berry. The remaining 10-12% is skin and pulp. Acai Max is 60% acai with pomegranate, red raspberry, black elderberry, and Amazonian camu camu. We are not like Mona Vie as we are not an MLM, we “DO” state the percentage of acai in our juice, and all of the fruits in our juice serve a purpose, not just there for taste or thickening purposes.
Kids can drink either Mona Vie or Acai Max.
I hope this helps. Look back to the Acai Max page in the coming days for a written and picture – show and tell – from our trip.
Sincerely,
Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.
9/19/2007 Question: I recently contacted the Dr. from the forum on the quality of Acai Max as opposed to Monavie. In comparing the two products (Monavie or Acai-Max), I am trying to get the best product for the best price. Can you let me know what you think about the difference in processing. The Monavie people claim they flash FREEZE the berries within 24 hrs. of picking. Is your Acai Max processed the same way?
Thank you,
Nancy Schempp
A note to me from my friend.
Just a heads up , All of what was stated in that email is NOT 100% accurate. Monavie is the ONLY juice company that FLASH FREEZES the berries within 24 hours of picking them. The reason for this is because Fruit starts to lose its nutrition and ORAC value within 24 hours. The ORAC value ( Oxygen Reduction Absorption Capacity) started in the U.S. in 1991. It is the FDA’s way of measuring the nutrition in fruit. Before the ACAI berry was discovered Cranberries were the highest with 93 ORAC. ACAI from Monavie has 1027. Also, Monavie did tons of extensive research to pick the 19 Fruits they chose for the juice, it is not for thickening the juice only.
Also, the heart for Monavie and the MLM is to get your juice for free by enrolling 2 people on each leg. Then your juice is free. Otherwise yes it comes out to about $3 a day BUT it is the BEST juice out there and highly ironic that ALL the other juice companies compare themselves to Monavie. It’s totally up to you but it is clearly a choice between GOOD and BEST. Monavie is the best and highest ORAC, antioxident values out in the market .If you want more info please go to this site juicedocs.com
Answer: Nancy,
“It is processed 100% exactly the same.” Your friend has been indoctrinated into the MLM religion and only speaks the MLM propaganda. I could critique and correct many parts of her comment (ORAC & the FDA, Mona Vie is the only one, Extensive research on the 19 fruits, and Not for thickening) but that’s not the point here. I just returned from Brazil yesterday and 2 MonaVie reps were at the same factory as us checking out the operation (processing method and acai berries). Check back to our Acai Max page in the coming days for a complete debriefing of our trip with tons of acai pictures and lots of true data about acai.
Sincerely,
Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.
Nancy: Thank you thank you thank you
Dr. E: You are welcome.
9/19/2007 From Nancy: I Ordered 24 bottles about two hours ago………The only thing I didn’t fully grasp is why Monavie has 19 fruits & Acai-Max has 5? They also claim that a lot of the nutrients are in the pulp/skin & seeds. I have been taking 220 mg of pure grape seed for over 10 years now and never get a cold or sniffle. I know it’s the seed that has a great deal of the nutrients. Of course if I could drink a lot of wine, that would do it too. LOL
The bottling of the Movavie is great, keeps it very cold, I just don’t know if I buy that it is necessary and I am really not interested in doing a pyramid with people paying for my juice. I feel if it is so good for people, make it affordable for everyone. What would we have done if Dr. Salk wanted to keep his price high on the polio vaccine? I want to see people healed of diseases that attack their bodies and I know the human body was made to heal itself. Stress is the biggest factor next to the contaminants we ingest. We have so many pollutants that work against us so we need nutritious supplements.
Thank you again for getting back to me.
Nancy
9/19/2007 From ME: Nancy,
That’s great and I know you will be very satisfied! Acai has a giant seed. 88-90% of the berry is seed and it is not used at all, totally discarded. The similarity between a red grape and acai is in the high polyphenol content in the skins.
Mona Vie, as a quick example, contains: banana puree, white grape juice from concentrate, apricot juice from concentrate, and pear puree. I know those fruits taste good (and as with most fruits and vegetables contain potassium) but I’ve never read, ever, where any of them have been used for specific therapeutic purposes. For the most part they help you get you daily serving of fruits.
Our 5 fruits all have peer reviewed journal articles in which they are referenced and all of them have a long track record in holistic medicine.
E-mail me any time and it was a pleasure to share thoughts and ideas with you.

Gold Isolate Plus contains an ample supply of the amino acid cysteine. Cysteine appears to enhance glutathione levels, which has been shown to have strong antioxidant properties. (Counous, 2000). Low glutathione contributes to oxidative stress, which plays a key role in aging and the pathogenesis of many diseases (including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, liver disease, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, HIV, AIDS, cancer, heart attack, stroke, and diabetes).
-
Gold Isolate Plus can help enhance memory as it promotes the synthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which is involved in cognition and thought. (Markus 2002)
-
Gold Isolate Plus contains casokinins and lactokinins, (FitzGerald 2004) which have been found to decrease both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive humans. (Seppo 2003)
-
Gold Isolate Plus can aid in inhibiting cholesterol absorption in the gut, reducing the risk of obesity and cardiac disease. (Nagaoka 1996)

Gold Isolate Plus contains lactoferrin. Studies have shown that E. Coli, Candida Albicans, H. Pylori and many other pathogenic forms of bacteria are strongly or partially (inhibited, reduced, suppressed) in the presence of lactoferrin. (Dial 1998) Note: There is a peptic ulcer H. Pylori connection and a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome candida connection. E. Coli is one of the most common causes of septic shock. Septic shock is the most frequent cause of death for intensive care patients and the 13th leading cause of death in the United States (Dr. E)
-
Gold Isolate Plus contains Branched Chain Amino Acids BCAA’s and extra L-Glutamine, which helps to maintain lean muscle mass, preserve existing muscle mass and aid in muscle protein synthesis (new muscle formation). Aging is associated with progressive loss of muscle mass, which increases the risks of injury and disability. Note: I first gave my grandmother whey protein when she was 83 years of age, she took it twice a day for the next 13 years. (Dr. E)

THE QUESTION PRESENTED
The FDA assisted by DOJ blundered at FDA’s inception in 1930, destroying the American mineral water industry without any scientific justification, resulting in about 10 million deaths 1930-2001 from heart disease; FDA and DOJ have refused to admit or correct their mistake, despite numerous scientific studies from the NAS and other scientific authorities. The District Court noted that the deaths “may exceed the Holocaust.”
Did the Food and Drug Administration, U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, District Court, Appeals Court, and the U.S. Department of Justice violate the Bill of Rights Fifth Amendment guarantee against “deprivation of life without due process of law” by perpetuating as many as 150,000 deaths per annum (about 10 million deaths since 1930) in an archetypical bureaucratic cover-up?

JURISDICTION
The date the United States Court of Appeals decided petitioner’s case was March 22, 2001. No petition for rehearing was filed in petitioner’s case. The jurisdiction of this Court is invoked under 28 U.S.C. § 1254(1).
CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY
PROVISIONS INVOLVED:
Bill of Rights, Amendment V of the Constitution
STATEMENT OF THE CASE
Alone among the nations of the world, the U. S. Government’s Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Justice destroyed the American mineral water industry in 1930 (Appendices C, D, E), so that American bottled waters now average about 10% as much magnesium content as do bottled waters in the rest of the world (Appendices F, G). This suppression of the American mineral water industry at the very inception of the FDA was made without any scientific studies, in response to naive notions of “purity” in that benighted era. The resulting national deficiency in dietary Mg has caused vast deaths—possibly as many as 10,650,000 deaths since 1930, projecting the figures from the 1977 report of the Safe Drinking Water Committee of the U. S. National Academy of Sciences (Appendix H), which cited over 50 studies from nine countries. Many other studies confirmed that Mg-deficiency is correlated with heart disease, or causes heart disease, and that Americans are Mg-deficient. (Appendices I, J, K, L). After causing vast numbers of deaths from heart disease on a genocidal scale, the FDA and DOJ, in an archetypical bureaucratic cover-up, have sought to deny and ignore the deaths, and have taken refuge behind the Administrative Procedures Act, arguing that FDA is better equipped than the courts to evaluate FDA’s own blunder. (Appendix M-DOJ’s argument).
Petitioner has standing as a remaining remnant of the once mighty U. S. mineral water industry that existed in 1900, which was destroyed by FDA and DOJ in 1930. Petitioner also has standing because defendants caused the deaths of more than 2% of petitioner’s friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers, and fellow Americans by depriving them of the natural Mg found in hard water a historic source of human nutrition.
The District Court ruled that although the Mg-deficient-water deaths “may over time exceed the Holocaust”, these deaths are a “political” problem, not a judicial problem; thus summary judgment and Dismissal. The Appeals Court affirmed. The District Court further admonished petitioner to institute a program of “public education” instead of litigation; petitioner affirms that he has exhausted both himself and his finances trying to counter 70 years of propaganda by FDA against mineral water. Nor has any politician publicly spoken about the Mg-deficiency deaths, despite numerous requests by petitioner. Thus the District Court’s admonition is not practical.
COMPELLING REASONS
This case is similar to the Dredd Scott case, in that it involves a Crime Against Humanity perpetuated by the government. Whereas the Dredd Scott case led to Civil War costing about 500,000 lives, the present case has already involved as many as 10 million deaths. If the court chooses not to address the Mg-in-water issue, the deaths will continue at a rate about equal to the Viet Nam War’s 60,000 deaths every 145 days. If all legal recourses become exhausted, the only remaining timely way to save millions of American lives may be the John Brown approach. While Petitioner is not willing to make the same sacrifices that John Brown made, it is more than obvious that there are many individuals willing to lay down their lives to save millions of Americans; police, firefighters, and soldiers sacrifice their lives every day to save Americans.
The FDA, Dept. of Health, and the Dept. of Justice are all part of the Executive Branch of government that originated and perpetuated this Crime Against Humanity. It is the Constitutional province of the Judicial Branch, and this Court in particular, to act as a Check and Balance on the Executive Branch, to stop this unconstitutional “deprivation of life without due process of law.”
CONCLUSION
This Petition for a Writ of Certiorari should be GRANTED.
DATED: June 5, 2001
Respectfully submitted,
Paul Mason, Petitioner pro se
Cancer Fears Over Beef

FEARS about eating beef from cattle pumped up with growth hormones have been raised by a British government expert.
John Verrall said there was alarming evidence it could trigger breast and other cancers, bring forward puberty in girls and increase the risk of genital abnormalities in boys.
Mr Verrall, a member of a government advisory committee, is so concerned that he has defied an official attempt to gag him. He points to a rise in rates of breast and prostate cancer in the U.S., where two-thirds of cattle receive hormones.
The EU currently bans their use.
