Whey Protein and Lactose Intollerance
August 7, 2009 by Marcus

Q: HI, I am confused about all the protein isolates in the market, some say isolated protein others not, and some say lactose free others not, how it can be lactose free if came form the cheese, can you explain for me the difference between yours and the ones in the market on the regular food stores.
Thanks
Andrea
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
A: Andrea,
Whey Protein Isolate is the purest form of whey protein and the since it’s 100% protein it doesn’t contain sugar (lactose). A lactose sensitive person CAN have whey protein. A (dairy) sensitive person is usually sensitive to the casein (milk) protein, not the lactose. I have used whey isolate in my practice for almost 20 years and only the most dairy intolerant people can’t take it.
I only recommend whey as a protein supplement because it also contains immunoglobulins (immune boosters) plus it’s an amazing L-glutathione (immune) booster.
If you are looking for a top-notch whey protein powder, ours is great.

Can you help me with a nutritional program?
Question Dr. E
I have been using your products for the last 6 mo. and have been very happy with them.
I currently take 1 scoop of your protein powder, 1 oz of Acai and 1 oz of goji in a soy/rice milk shake every morning. I’m always looking to try and experiment with new things.
I’m going to be placing another order and would appreciate your product recommendations. I’m 45, very fit, active and plan on staying that way,…LOL
I’m currently interested in:
-
L-Tryptophan
-
Whey Protein Powder
-
ACAI Max OR Absolute Acai Powder
-
Liquid Power
-
Would all of the above be recommended or would the benefits of some be found in the others and then they would overlap eliminating the need for all of them?
-
Would you have any other recommendations?
-
How would you recommend taking the supplements?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Tom
Answer Tom,
I am almost 44 and have the same goals. This is what I do in the morning. It’s a little extreme but I want to live to 100, go to bed with a smile on my face and just not wake-up the next day, never having to see any doctor and not on medications. You can also check out my practice website here
www.advancedhealing.com
From caoh.com* I take daily:
-
1 scoop whey protein*
-
2 scoops Absolute Acai*
-
1 ounce Liquid Power*
-
1 tblsp liquid flax seed oil
-
1 tblsp wheat germ oil
-
1 tsp molecularly distilled fish oil
-
1 heaping tblsp Ultra Supreme Greens*
-
Frozen strawberries and blueberries
And if I need a little immune boost I will add 1 ounce of TheraAloe*.
Sincerely,
Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc
Reply Dr. E,
Thank you for your reply.
I have a couple more questions:
-
How do you feel about L-Tryptophan? What kind of people would you recommend this for? I know way back they took it off the market due to some unfortunate incidents.
-
ACAI Max OR Absolute Acai Powder? Why choose one over the other?
-
Taking the list below, how beneficial would adding supreme greens be?
-
Whey Protein Powder
-
Goji Fusion OR Absolute Goji
-
ACAI Max OR Absolute Acai Powder
-
Liquid Power
-
10 oz soy milk
-
4 oz rice milk
-
1tbl flaxseed oil
Tom,

How do you feel about L-Tryptophan? What kind of people would you recommend this for? I know way back they took it off the market due to some unfortunate incidents. It was as still is totally safe. FDA made a big mistake now it’s fixed. 3 before bed is the recommended dose and can be taken by most adults.
-
ACAI Max OR Absolute Acai Powder? Why choose one over the other? Absolute Acai, because it’s pure 100% acai goodness.
-
Taking the list below, how beneficial would adding supreme greens be? Very beneficial.
- Whey Protein Powder
- Goji Fusion OR Absolute Goji
- ACAI Max OR Absolute Acai Powder
- Liquid Power
- 10 oz soy milk – Would use water, too many sugar calories and not much nutritional benefit.
- 4 oz rice milk – Would use water, too many sugar calories and not much nutritional benefit.
- 1tbl flaxseed oil

Whey Protein Questions
May 29, 2008 by Dr. Marcus Ettinger
Filed under Diet & Weight Loss, Sports Nutrition
Hello, A customer, Delores Mobley has a few questions on our Whey Protein, can you help her with these questions?
She wants to know what the difference is between cross flow microfiltration and unfiltered. Cross-flow microfiltration produces the highest level of undenatured protein available among Whey Protein Isolates. It’s a delicate process which comes quite close to the protein concentration levels of ion exchange, while keeping the valuable “extras” that ion exchange discards.
Instead of using destructive chemicals, cross-flow microfiltration uses filters to separate protein from undesirable fat, cholesterol and lactose, based on molecular size and shape. The low-temperature process isolates the native protein of whey at its biologically natural pH, carefully preserving its biological activity and the immune-boosting components remain intact.
Unfiltered is just that, it’s unfiltered
She also wants to know how much of the albumen serum is in it. That is not measured as a separate component in any whey protein.
Lastly, she wants to know how much fructose and why is there fructose and stevia? Close to 5 grams per serving. Why, because without it, it tastes bad.

Please advise,
Thank you,

A: Dear Carolyn,
First, I am not sure what you mean by “neuro problem”.
Second, as far as a “melt the fat away” product goes, I would be a multi-billionaire if I could come up with that product. It doesn’t exist. I am providing you with a link that is really the only sure fire way to lose weight and keep it off. It is not just for weight loss, it’s how we should eat every day.

I Need a Multi Without Ascorbic Acid
June 12, 2006 by Dr. Marcus Ettinger
Filed under Herbal Formulas, Vitamins and Minerals
Q: My name is Sandy. I need a liquid multi vitamin with little or no vitamin C in it. Ascorbic Acid and citrus make my mouth and throat very sore. If you can help please e-mail me back.
Thank you
A: Dear Sally,
Our Liquid Power multi does not contain ascorbic acid, it contains the patented Ester-C, which is buffered (neutral pH) and will not cause those un wanted effects.
For a complete nutritional program I also recommend our Ultra Supreme Greens, Omega 3, 6, 9 and the Whey Protein. These four products make-up the base for most of my nutritional programs. Alkalinity, good essential fatty acids, a high quality protein, and comprehensive multi all make for a strong and healthy body.
Sincerely,

Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus From California Academy of Health: Natures Answer to achieving increased Stamina, Lean Muscle Mass, longevity, Energy, and an Enhanced Immune System.
The nutrition and sport industries most comprehensive protein powder is now another California Academy of Health exclusive.
“It’s no just one of the best whey protein powders on the market, I feel it is the best” said Marcus Ettinger DC, California Academy of Health’s Director of Research and Development, because our Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus contains a proprietary blend of three specific forms of whey protein: Ion-Exchanged, Cross-Flow Microfiltered, and Enzymatically Hydrolyzed. Only the highest quality, natural ingredients are used, manufactured in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and QAI (Quality Assurance International) facility. It’s an amazing 80% protein by weight, yielding 25 grams of easily absorbable, ultra high Biological Value (BV) protein. Not to mention only 2 net grams of carbohydrates per serving.”
One portion of California Academy of Health’s Whey Protein - Gold Isolate Plus goes through a Cross-flow microfiltration process. Cross-flow microfiltration gives an isolate which is greater than 90% in protein and possesses undenatured sub-fractions like beta-lactoglobulin, alpha-lactoglobulin, immunoglobulins IgG, IgA and IgM, glycomacropeptides, bovine serum albumin, lactoferrin, lactoperoxidaes and lysozyme. “Our Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus not only is the best protein source for building lean muscle mass but it also possesses potent immune system modulators.”
Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus is the new “Gold Standard” in sports nutrition, says Dr. Ettinger. California Academy of Health’s Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus, packs an incredible 5.5 grams of lean muscle mass building, Branch Chain Amino Acid’s per serving. Branch Chain Amino Acid’s (BCAA) are imperative for protein synthesis, which helps preserve lean muscle mass during training and exercise. By creating an anabolic balance in the muscles tissue, BCAA’s keep it from breaking down. Dr. Ettinger adds, “Our Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus also has added free form amino acid L-Glutamine, for enhanced lean muscle preservation.”
California Academy of Health’s Whey Protein Gold Isolate Plus is for everyone. “My 19 month old daughter has taken it, in a shake, with goat’s milk and fruit since she stopped breast feeding; my wife is a personal trainer and has used it to help her clients lose weight and create ripped muscles and I use it for my training and to help keep me looking and feeling young.”
California Academy of Health’s Whey protein Gold Isolate Plus comes in a 21 serving, 2 pound container. It is naturally Vanilla flavored which mixes well with juices and smoothies.
This product mixed with our “Liquid Power Multi-V” and any of our juices is an outstanding daily nutrition regiment!
